CityLightBuzz: TIRUPATI: Former Andhra Pradesh Minister R. K. Roja has strongly emphasised the sacred significance of Sri Vari prasadam and appealed to everyone to respect the sentiments and faith of devotees.
Roja said that the prasadam of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy is supremely sacred and holds immense religious significance for lakhs of devotees. She alleged that attempts to question or tarnish its sanctity for political gains would hurt the sentiments of devotees.
She urged those who, according to her, were attempting to politicise the issue to put an end to such actions and respect the religious beliefs associated with Tirumala and Lord Venkateswara.
Referring to former Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Roja used the metaphor of “fresh milk” to describe his governance, saying that there was no place for “adulteration” in either fresh milk or the administration under Jagananna.
Roja further stated that the grand festival of Lord Venkateswara had once again demonstrated the importance of maintaining purity and sanctity in matters associated with the temple and its prasadam.
Her remarks come amid continuing political debate in Andhra Pradesh over Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), Sri Vari prasadam and allegations concerning its preparation and quality.Roja maintained that religious matters should not be used as a means of gaining political advantage and called for the sentiments of devotees to be respected.
