Telangana Launches AI Revolution in Tribal Welfare with ‘AI Tribal Innovation Mission’
Telangana Tribal Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar announced that the state government is taking tribal welfare beyond traditional schemes and moving towards digital empowerment through Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Speaking at a high-level review meeting on “AI Intervention Development in Tribal Welfare Department” held at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat, the Minister said the government aims to transform tribal communities “from forests to Artificial Intelligence.”
Under the leadership of A. Revanth Reddy, the Telangana government is focusing on “Inclusive Growth through Innovation” by integrating AI into tribal welfare programs.
AI in Tribal Education
The Minister revealed plans to introduce AI-powered smart learning systems for tribal students. Virtual teachers, digital tutors, AI-based mock tests, career guidance, and personalized learning systems will be introduced in tribal schools.
The government also plans to establish smart classrooms, AI and coding labs in Ekalavya and Ashram schools, and develop e-learning content in tribal languages.
AI-Based Healthcare in Tribal Areas
AI-driven telemedicine services will be introduced in remote tribal villages. The government plans to monitor the health of pregnant women and children using AI systems and implement AI diagnostic tools for early disease detection.
Mobile health units with AI screening facilities and AI chatbots in local languages will also be launched to improve healthcare awareness and nutrition tracking.
Employment & Digital Livelihoods
The Minister said the government wants tribal youth to become job creators rather than job seekers. AI-based agricultural advisory services, climate alerts, and market price information for minor forest produce will be provided to tribal farmers.
The government also plans to support tribal women’s groups through digital marketing and connect bamboo products, handicrafts, and forest products with e-commerce platforms.
‘AI Tribal Innovation Mission’
In collaboration with the IT Department, Telangana will launch the “AI Tribal Innovation Mission.” Tribal Digital Training Centres will be established with CSR support from IT companies to provide training in Data Analytics, AI, Cyber Security, and Coding.
Special AI internship programs for tribal youth will also be introduced.
Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar stated that AI is not just a technology, but a new tool for achieving social justice and empowering tribal communities across Telangana.
