‘Sanskar Begins with Naming; Our Journey Must Continue from Ram Mandir to Ram Rajya’
Delivering his Anugraha Bhashanam, Sri Sri Vishwaprasanna Teertha Swamiji emphasised the importance of introducing children to Indian culture, traditions and values from an early age.
He said that sanskar should begin from the naming ceremony itself and stressed that every family has a responsibility to pass the roots of Indian culture on to the younger generation. The Swamiji recalled that traditionally, children were given meaningful names such as Rama, Krishna, Keshava, Govinda and Shankara, which naturally created an association with India’s spiritual and cultural heritage, including the Vedas, Puranas, Ramayana and Mahabharata. He urged parents to focus not only on imparting family values to their children but also on introducing the younger generation to Indian traditions, culture and values.‘From Ram Mandir to Ram Rajya’
Referring to the construction of the Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya as a historic milestone, the Swamiji said that the journey should not end with the construction of the temple and called for moving forward towards the ideal of Ram Rajya. Quoting the principle “Ramo Vigrahavan Dharma”, he urged people to imbibe the virtues and values represented by Lord Rama in their daily lives. He said that the concept of Ram Rajya can become a reality when every citizen fulfils their responsibilities in a democracy and develops the spirit of considering another person’s pain as their own and sharing in the happiness of others.
