Amaravati, May 15: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has decided to conduct its prestigious annual event Mahanadu in a hybrid format this year under special circumstances.

As per the decision, the event will be held for two days (May 27 & 28), with physical participation at the party central office and virtual participation across districts.

The decision was taken following discussions over the past two days, considering the current national situation and suggestions from the Prime Minister. Conducting the event physically for three days in Nellore would require large-scale transportation arrangements, which goes against the government’s call for austerity.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu held a Zoom meeting with ministers and senior leaders, where most participants favored the hybrid format. Accordingly, the party leadership finalized the decision.

Senior leaders, Politburo members, and central and state committee members will attend physically at the party headquarters, while ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, and other leaders will participate virtually from their respective constituencies.

Cluster-Level Arrangements for Cadre Participation

To ensure large-scale participation, the party has planned special arrangements across 1,848 clusters in the state. Leaders and party workers in each cluster will join virtually, watch proceedings, and share their opinions digitally.

TDP had earlier conducted Mahanadu virtually in 2020 and 2021 during COVID-19, and now aims to replicate similar participation with improved digital connectivity.

The party leadership emphasized that even though the format has changed, the spirit and importance of Mahanadu will remain intact. Discussions on political resolutions and public issues will be held in depth.

Calling it a responsible decision in the interest of the nation, the party urged all cadres to actively participate digitally and make the two-day event a grand success.
