CityLightBuzz: Former Rajya Sabha MP J. Santosh Kumar participated in a large-scale plantation drive under the Green India Challenge at Shivaru Venkatapur village in the Gajwel Assembly Constituency, where 2,000 saplings were planted as part of an avenue plantation programme.
The plantation drive was organized under the leadership of Village Sarpanch Kanakayya and Chepyala Rajeshwar Rao, with active participation from villagers and local leaders.
Speaking on the occasion, Sarpanch Kanakayya expressed happiness that the entire village joined hands with J. Santosh Kumar to plant saplings under the Green India Challenge. He praised Santosh Kumar’s unwavering commitment to environmental conservation and said the initiative has inspired lakhs of people to participate in increasing Telangana’s green cover.He noted that, inspired by K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), Santosh Kumar has transformed the Green India Challenge into a mass movement by encouraging people from all walks of life to plant and protect trees, contributing towards a greener Telangana and a better future for coming generations.
The programme was attended by Gajwel Constituency In-charge Onteru Pratap Reddy, MLC Yadav Reddy, MPP Pandu Goud, ZPTC Ram Chandram, Vice Sarpanch Putta Manasa Prakash, MPTC Forum President Krishna Yadav, local leaders, party workers, and a large number of villagers.
