CityLightBuzz: Demonstrating its commitment to supporting critical healthcare services, Hyderabad Metro Rail successfully facilitated a Priority Medical Transit for the time-sensitive transportation of donor heart and lungs from CARE Hospitals, Gachibowli, to KIMS Hospitals, Minister Road, Secunderabad.
The life-saving mission involved transporting the donor heart and lungs via the Hyderabad Metro network from Raidurg Metro Station to Rasoolpura Metro Station, covering a distance of 14 kilometres across 13 stations in just 25 minutes, between 11:40 AM and 12:05 PM.
The swift transit was made possible through seamless coordination between Hyderabad Metro Rail, healthcare professionals, and hospital authorities, ensuring the organs reached the recipient hospital within the critical time window required for transplantation.
L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited (L&TMRHL) stated that the successful operation highlights the metro’s expanding role beyond urban transportation, actively supporting emergency healthcare services and enabling life-saving medical interventions when every minute matters.
