CityLightBuzz: Karimnagar, September 5: BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) strongly criticized the Congress government, alleging that it has completely neglected youth, students and unemployed people during its 1,000 days in power.
Addressing a Youth Conference in Karimnagar, KTR alleged that the Congress government had failed to fulfil the promises made to youth and students before the elections and had pushed unemployed youth into severe difficulties.
He called upon the youth to prepare for another major movement from Karimnagar, recalling the city’s significant role in the Telangana statehood movement.
‘Youth Can Change History’
KTR recalled that former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) had begun the Telangana statehood movement from Karimnagar. He said that major movements in history had been shaped by the struggles of youth and students.
He remarked that when young people unite and raise their voices, even powerful governments can be challenged. KTR also referred to youth protests in Delhi and said that the same spirit should now be shown in Telangana.
Questioning allegations that Telangana youth lack skills, KTR said, “Who said our youth don’t have skills? Students are asking whether the Chief Minister himself has the skills.” He also criticized Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, making personal remarks about his ability to write applications and communicate effectively. KTR said the BRS would strongly question the Congress government during the Assembly session.
KTR Questions Congress’ Election Promises
KTR alleged that Congress came to power by making several promises to unemployed youth and students but had failed to implement them.
He questioned the government over its promises to:
Provide two lakh jobs every year
Establish a Youth Commission
Introduce 75% reservation for locals in private companies
Provide scooters to college-going girls
Provide ₹10 lakh loans to youth
Provide ₹4,000 unemployment assistance
Ensure proper fee reimbursement for students
KTR questioned what had happened to these promises after 1,000 days of Congress rule.
‘No Job Calendar, Only Scam Calendar’
Taking a dig at the Congress government, KTR said, “There is no notification, but lootification is going on. There is no job calendar, but a scam calendar is running in the state.”
He alleged that the government was delaying recruitment notifications despite thousands of unemployed youth waiting for employment opportunities.
KTR also recalled Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s alleged promise at Ashok Nagar to provide two lakh jobs within a year. He criticized Rahul Gandhi for allegedly failing to address the issue after the elections.
“If you don’t come here, we will come to Delhi,” KTR warned.
KTR Accuses Congress of Focusing on Power and Shares
KTR alleged that the Chief Minister and ministers were focusing more on their political and financial interests than solving public problems.
He accused the Congress government of deceiving various sections of society and alleged that there was no vision in the state’s governance, but only destruction.
KTR Demands Revanth Reddy’s Resignation
Recalling the Telangana movement, KTR said that KCR had resigned and fought for the formation of Telangana.
He questioned whether KCR, who fought for Telangana, should resign, and demanded that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy resign if he cannot fulfil the promises made to the people even after 1,000 days in office.
Call for Youth and Students to Unite
KTR called upon youth and students to unite and launch a democratic movement against the Congress government.
He urged unemployed youth to question Congress leaders over the promises made before the elections and called upon young people to prepare for another major struggle.
KTR described the Congress government’s record on youth promises as a failure and reiterated that the BRS would continue to raise the concerns of students and unemployed youth in the Assembly and on public platforms.
