Congress Came to Power on the Foundation of Lies” – MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra
CityLightBuzz: Kothagudem: A massive protest demonstration was organised in Kothagudem under the leadership of BRS Parliamentary Party Leader MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra, targeting what the BRS described as the Congress government’s failures during its 1,000 days in office. The protest is part of the BRS statewide campaign against the alleged non-implementation of the Congress government’s election promises.
Addressing the gathering, MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra alleged that the Congress came to power by making Six Guarantees, 13 declarations and hundreds of promises, but had failed to fulfil several of its key commitments.
“Congress came to power on the foundation of lies. Not a single major promise made before the elections is being properly implemented,” Ravichandra alleged. He strongly criticised the Revanth Reddy government, stating that its policies had become a burden on the people of Telangana. Farmers’ Issues Raised
Ravichandra alleged that the Congress had promised a ₹2 lakh loan waiver for farmers but claimed that the government had not fulfilled the commitment in full.
He praised former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) for introducing the Rythu Bandhu scheme and providing investment support to farmers. He also criticised the government over alleged shortcomings in Rythu Bharosa, Rythu Bima, tenant-farmer welfare and irrigation facilities.
Unemployment, Employees and Welfare Issues
The BRS leader also raised several issues concerning different sections of society. He alleged that government employees were waiting for PRC and pending DAs, while unemployed youth were awaiting recruitment notifications.
He further highlighted alleged delays in fee reimbursement for students, assistance promised to auto drivers, and implementation of welfare schemes including Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak.
Ravichandra also alleged that commitments relating to BC reservations, Dalit Bandhu, BC Bandhu and compassionate appointments in Singareni had not been adequately addressed.
“Congress and BJP Are One”
Ravichandra alleged that Congress and BJP were working together to suppress the BRS, despite the BRS being in the Opposition.
He claimed that people were increasingly dissatisfied with the Congress government and were once again looking towards BRS and KCR.
“KCR’s governance is the protection of Telangana and its people,” he asserted.
Ravichandra also expressed confidence that KCR would return as Chief Minister for a third term, saying that this would eventually become a reality.
420-Metre Banner and Human Chain
As part of the protest, MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra led a massive human chain involving thousands of BRS leaders, workers, supporters and activists near Kothagudem Railway Station.
A 420-metre-long banner highlighting the party’s allegations over unfulfilled election promises was displayed. BRS workers wearing pink scarves and carrying party flags and placards raised slogans against what they described as the Congress government’s anti-people policies.
The Kothagudem protest was part of the BRS’s week-long statewide campaign launched to mark the Congress government’s 1,000-day milestone and highlight alleged failures in implementing its electoral commitments.
