CityLigjhtBuzz: In response to the devastating floods that have severely impacted Assam, the Nandamuri Basava Tarakam NTR Charitable Trust has launched a large-scale relief initiative to support thousands of affected families. The Trust has appealed to fans of Nandamuri Balakrishna and the general public to come forward and contribute towards the humanitarian cause. Continuous heavy rains have triggered widespread flooding across Assam, resulting in the loss of 75 lives and the displacement of lakhs of people across several districts. Thousands of families have been left without access to food, drinking water, medicines, clothing, and shelter, creating an urgent need for relief and rehabilitation.
To extend immediate assistance, the Trust has begun collecting essential relief materials, including clothes, blankets, footwear, rice, dry food, drinking water, sanitary kits, medicines, and other daily necessities, which will be dispatched to the flood-affected regions of Assam.
The relief collection drive was formally flagged off at the NTR Statue, JNTU, KPHB, Hyderabad, in the presence of Nandamuri Mohana Roopa, Tummala Prasanna Kumar, and NBK Fan Anantapur Jagan.
A large number of Balayya Yuva Sena members and volunteers actively participated in the initiative. Among those present were Atluri Deepak, Sattar, Cherukuri Ravi, Marni Pawan, Potluri Ramakrishna, Potluri Rajesh, Vinay Chava, Komma Vikram, Karnati Kondal Rao, Madan Mohan, Gopi Krishna Kakarla, Srinivas Kolluri, Harendra Babu, Manideep, Gautham, Sai, along with many other volunteers who helped collect relief materials and coordinate the drive.The initiative has received an encouraging response, with contributions pouring in from supporters and well-wishers across different regions. Many individuals have also contacted the Trust expressing their willingness to participate in the relief mission.
Speaking on the occasion, Nandamuri Mohana Roopa expressed gratitude to everyone who extended their support to the noble cause. She appreciated the overwhelming public response and urged citizens to continue contributing through the Nandamuri Basava Tarakam NTR Charitable Trust, emphasizing that every donation—big or small—can make a meaningful difference in the lives of families affected by the floods.
Reaffirming its commitment to humanitarian service, the Trust appealed to people from all walks of life to stand together in support of the people of Assam during this challenging time, highlighting that collective efforts can bring relief, hope, and strength to those rebuilding their lives after the disaster.
