Project to Spread Across 250+ Acres and Generate Around 7,000 Direct and Indirect Jobs
Hyderabad: Telangana is set to strengthen its position as a major global hub for artificial intelligence and advanced digital infrastructure, with HyperVault, TCS’ AI infrastructure business, planning to develop a large-scale AI data centre campus in Hyderabad.
The proposed campus will have a capacity of up to 1 GW and will be spread across more than 250 acres. HyperVault and its partners are expected to invest up to ₹70,000 crore in building and managing the infrastructure.
The project is expected to support frontier AI companies, hyperscalers and global enterprises, while creating around 7,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities.
At full build-out, the campus is expected to rank among the largest and most advanced AI infrastructure campuses in India.
Focus on Green Energy and Water-Neutral Infrastructure
The proposed AI campus will incorporate green energy and water-neutral design principles as part of its development.
Beyond the data centre campus itself, the project is expected to create significant opportunities across India’s AI infrastructure ecosystem, including power, cooling, networking, construction, engineering and operations.
The development is being seen as a major boost to Telangana’s ambition to emerge as a strategic destination for AI, cloud computing and advanced digital infrastructure.
Revanth Reddy Calls Project ‘Historic’
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, during a meeting with officials from TCS’ HyperVault, described the project as “historic”, not only for Telangana but for India.
The Chief Minister said Hyderabad is now at the forefront of the global AI revolution, with a strong focus on infrastructure.
“This decade is one of Artificial Intelligence. Access to AI models and compute is fast becoming public infrastructure, and having this compute reside in Telangana gives us an advantage,” Revanth Reddy said.
Telangana Beats Five Competing States
IT & Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, who led the negotiations for the agreement, said the project demonstrates Telangana’s investment-friendly approach.
“We tell investors and corporations across the world, Telangana Means Business. We move at speed and with clarity of process that matches the expectations of the tech and corporate world,” he said.
He noted that the project originated from a conversation between Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, during the World Economic Forum in Davos in January this year.
According to the minister, discussions between Telangana officials, HyperVault and TCS progressed rapidly, resulting in the milestone agreement within a few months.
Telangana successfully competed with five other states to secure the major AI infrastructure project.
TCS Highlights Hyderabad’s AI Ecosystem
K. Krithivasan, CEO and Managing Director of TCS, said HyperVault strengthens TCS’ Infrastructure-to-Intelligence strategy by combining AI-ready infrastructure with the company’s cloud, engineering, enterprise transformation and AI capabilities.
He said Hyderabad offers the required scale, talent and ecosystem to serve global customers and thanked the Telangana government for its continued support and investment-friendly policies.
HyperVault to Build Next-Generation AI Infrastructure
Deepesh Nanda, MD and CEO of HyperVault AI Data Center Limited, said the company is developing infrastructure designed for the future requirements of AI.
He highlighted the focus on higher-density computing, liquid cooling, larger power blocks and faster deployment, saying Hyderabad provides the right foundation to build such infrastructure at scale.
The HyperVault project is expected to significantly expand Hyderabad’s role in India’s growing AI ecosystem and attract further investments in advanced computing and digital infrastructure.
With an investment potential of up to ₹70,000 crore, a capacity of up to 1 GW, and an estimated 7,000 direct and indirect jobs, the project marks a major milestone in Telangana’s efforts to establish Hyderabad as a leading global destination for artificial intelligence infrastructure.
