Great news for farmers! The Southwest Monsoon has officially entered India, making landfall in Kerala a short while ago. It is expected to spread across the rest of the country over the next few days.
The Meteorological Department estimates that the monsoon is likely to enter Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during the second week of June, bringing widespread rainfall. However, the IMD (Indian Meteorological Department) has already indicated that there is a chance of reduced rainfall this season due to the El Niño effect.
