DGP C.V. Anand Reviews Telangana Police Academy, Stresses Modern Training & Case-Study-Based Learning

DGP Telangana Shri C.V. Anand, IPS, continued his review of various police departments with a visit to the Telangana Police Academy (TGPA), Himayatsagar.

He toured the 140-acre campus, reviewed its training infrastructure and facilities, and assessed the challenges involved in maintaining a premier police training institution. During the visit, he interacted with 570 personnel of OCTOPUS and Greyhounds undergoing transformational training, 112 DSP probationers, and officers of various ranks currently attending training programmes.

The DGP also reviewed a detailed presentation by TGPA Director Smt. Abhilasha Bisht, IPS, and academy officers on the courses, programmes, achievements, and challenges faced by the academy, particularly in the areas of manpower and budget. Appreciating TGPA as one of the country’s premier police training institutions, Shri C.V. Anand emphasized the importance of a case-study-based learning approach, regular exposure to new laws and landmark judgments, and encouraged officers at all levels, from the Director onwards, to actively participate in teaching and sharing their field experiences with trainees.
