CityLightBuzz: The Telangana government has ceremonially launched the “Indiramma Stitching Machines” scheme, aimed at empowering women from Backward Classes (BC) communities by providing automatic stitching machines to support self-employment and livelihood opportunities.
Under the scheme, eligible BC women will receive Indiramma automatic stitching machines with 100% government subsidy. The initiative is intended to help women take up tailoring as a livelihood, generate additional household income and become economically self-reliant.
Applications from August 15 to September 15
Applications for the Indiramma Stitching Machines scheme will be accepted from August 15 to September 15. Eligible BC women can apply during this period as per the guidelines issued by the authorities.
The scheme focuses on promoting women’s economic empowerment, self-employment and skill-based livelihood opportunities, particularly for BC women interested in tailoring and related activities.
Dignitaries Attend the Launch
The programme was attended by Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Government Advisor V. Hanumantha Rao, Government Whip Adi Srinivas, MLAs Eeralapalli Shankaraiah, Naveen Yadav and Kaleru Venkatesh, chairpersons of various caste corporations, BC Welfare Department Secretary Balamayadevi, and senior officials of the BC Welfare Department.
The leaders and officials highlighted the importance of providing sustainable livelihood opportunities to BC women and encouraging them to become financially independent through self-employment.
