Restore Cancelled Licences in Peddapalli.The association demanded the immediate restoration of the licences cancelled in Peddapalli district.According to the association, the cancellation of licences has resulted in loss of livelihood for several surveyors and caused serious financial difficulties for their families. The government was urged to examine the issue on humanitarian grounds and restore the licences without delay.
Government Must Focus on Surveyors’ Welfare
The association said the problems faced by licensed surveyors are not limited to employment but also concern the financial and social security of their families.
The association referred to the death of Bangaraiah, a licensed surveyor from Nagarkurnool district, who reportedly suffered a heart attack after facing financial difficulties and work-related distress. It urged the government to take measures to prevent such incidents and provide continuous employment, fair remuneration and family welfare support.
Surveyor Bitten by Snake During Duty
The association also raised concerns over the safety of surveyors working in fields and remote areas.
It said Kola Vithal, a licensed surveyor from Kamareddy district, was bitten by a snake while carrying out survey work about a week ago and is currently undergoing treatment in hospital.
The association requested the government and concerned officials to provide him with immediate medical and financial assistance.Surveyors often have to work in fields, isolated locations and potentially hazardous areas while conducting land surveys, exposing them to risks including snake bites and other accidents, the association said.
Demand for Monthly Honorarium
The association demanded that the government immediately introduce a monthly honorarium for every licensed surveyor working in connection with the revenue system.It said licensed surveyors provide continuous services to the public and deserve proper recognition and financial security for their work.
Job Security and Health Insurance.The association also demanded a clear and permanent job security policy for licensed surveyors so that they do not suddenly lose their livelihood due to licence cancellations or other administrative reasons.
It further sought health insurance and health security for surveyors and their family members, considering the risks involved in field duties.
₹1 Crore Life Insurance Cover
Another major demand is the provision of ₹1 crore life insurance coverage for every licensed surveyor.
The association said the insurance would provide financial protection to families in the event of an unexpected accident or death while performing official duties.
Implement WORK Memo and Government Orders
The association demanded the immediate implementation of the WORK Memo and other government orders issued in connection with licensed surveyors.
It urged senior officials to identify all pending issues and take immediate steps towards their resolution.
Association Condemns Arrests at Survey Bhavan
The Telangana Revenue Licensed Surveyors Association strongly condemned the alleged arrests and detention of surveyors who participated in a peaceful protest at Survey Bhavan demanding resolution of their legitimate concerns.
The association said that protesting peacefully and bringing grievances to the government’s attention is a democratic right and alleged that several surveyors were detained at police stations including Begum Bazaar, Nampally, Afzal Gunj and Chikkadpally.
The association demanded that all detained surveyors be released immediately and unconditionally.
It also urged the government and senior police officials to stop such action against peaceful protesters and instead hold discussions with representatives of the association to resolve the issues.Association Calls for Immediate Government Intervention
The association appealed to the Telangana government to immediately hold discussions with its state committee representatives and senior officials and find a permanent solution to the problems faced by licensed surveyors across the state.
